Bridesmaids ideas

I like the idea of the same color and shoes for the bridesmaid dresses, but different dress cuts. Here’s some examples.

Is ginger looking like …

While discovering and falling in love with Indian food, I discovered ginger as well. Some long time ago. And from that, my curiosity grew and started learning a lot of new things about this magical plant. Besides it very strong taste and usage in both sweet food like ginger jelly and spicy one (pickled ginger after sushi for removing the fish after taste or ginger as ingredient in almost all Asian food), ginger is also a good remedy for colds (mashed ginger with honey is a very good remedy for sore throat and colds of any kinds) and used in the cosmetic industry a lot. For example my new shampoo from The Body Shop (which I love) is made of Ginger and is aimed towards healing greasy hair.

So while I was just in the bathroom doing my usual preparations before bedtime, I was starring without hesitation to the ginger picture of my Ginger Shampoo and started noticing that all those ginger roots look a bit like ….. ….. small penises :)

Can you see it too or is my mind too dirty? :D

I’m in love

I’m in love with this song. I cannot stop listening to it and even dancing on it. I discovered while listening to the radio at work and I could not stop moving, I had to dance sitting on the chair and trying to not be discovered by my office mate.

You cannot stop moving after starting this. It’s also so sexy! I wanna do a surprise dance (given my BodyJam background) for my husband at our wedding. Now, I’m taking this song into account. It would give a nice dance, maybe a bit too sexy for our audience, but I’m sure my husband won’t complain ;).

Save the Date – before batch 1

Before Batch 1 of Save the Date cards, there was actually another try on black paper Save the Date cards.

Here they are:

The design is almost the same for all of them. I have variations of the color of the pen and usage of transparent paper or not.

Save the Date Batch 1

The first batch of Save the Date cards that I made were completely manual (no computer skills involved). I wanted basically to try out colors, shapes and embelishments on them. The colors that I chose are light pink, pink, white, dark pink and black.

Here they are:

For this one I used a light pink carton cut with the special cards straight cutter. The pink flower I bought in Panduro (hobby shop in Denmark) and same for the velvety black lace which sticks to the paper. For writing the card I used a special gold pen.

The next one is made from a white paper, with the same velvety lace and pink flower but also with some white lacey paper stick to the bottom.

The next ones are some trials with a darker shade of pink.

And this last one was my favorite – similar to the first one but more lace and more flowers.

Save the Date cards

Today I made another batch of Save the Date cards. All DIY.

They are modern with a bit of twist to the old as well. I like them very much. Probably I will just choose one of them, multiply and give it to my friends. Still don’t know which. This batch was much better than the first one where I didn’t use a computer at all. For this one I mostly used the MS Office Publisher.

I am yet not decided about my wedding theme or colors so I’ve created the cards in as multiple colors as possible.

Here they are. The pictures and cards are under my copyright.

This first one is a simple one with just a flower embellishment on the side. I kept the text simple as well. Actually the text is simple and not very formal on all cards as they are meant mostly for young friends of ours.IMG_2303

This one has dark blue flower embellishments on both sides and most of the writing is also same color. For the date I used a coral color (Thanks to Pantone and MS Office Publisher) and glued a small paper flower of the same color. The print is glued to a coral base as well.

The next one is glued to an ivory carton base. The flowery embellishments and main writing are dark blue. The date is written in red.

IMG_2305

This one is all purple and yellow on a nice bubbly yellow base carton.

IMG_2309

The next one is similar to the previous one just that the main writing and flowers are black, the date is written in red and the carton base is black.

IMG_2313

The next one is one of my favorites. It reminds me of rococo and a modern story line. The colors are black and reddish-pink.

IMG_2307

This one is very fairy-tale like. The colors are again dark blue, coral and white. IMG_2298

This one is using the same nice yellow carton as base as above. I used a black velvet lace ribbon here on the upper left corner which I removed in the next shot.

IMG_2310

This is the same as above just with the black velvet ribbon removed. I think it looks better actually.

This is it.

Atelier Aimee wedding dresses

My favorite wedding dress designer is Atelier Aimee. The designer is Lucia Zanotti and she has more than 25 years experience. Her husband bought the atelier more than 25 years ago and after that with her designs brought to life, the rest is history.

The dresses are very romantic with fine and expensive fabrics, a lot of embellishments (flowers and ribbons) and color.

Although romantic and flowery, you cannot say about their dresses that are old-fashioned. I think they are very sophisticated and modern. If I had the money, my wedding dress will definitely be from this designer.

They have 3 ranges. The first one is Atelier Aimee which is the most expensive range and prices start at 4000 EUR. The other two are Eme di Eme which is the range for young brides and is less expensive than Atelier Aimee (prices start at 2000 EUR) and Pret a Porter which is for the brides that look for simpler designs. I don’t know exactly the price range for this one, but I believe it should be the same as Eme di Eme.

I am pasting below my favorite dresses from Atelier Aimee and Eme di Eme collections. With time, I will probably add comments about most of the dresses.
